Our end of season sale -- and more!
By Lise Fracalossi
Man… is it already October? That must mean…
Our end of season sale
Our fall sale this year will be on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, from 10am to 4pm, at the greenhouse at 29 Sawyer Hill Rd, Berlin, MA.
I recognize that having this at the greenhouse makes it a little bit more difficult for our Lunenburg-based customers to attend. But the advantage is we have a dedicated, public location that someone can easily find! (If you’ve ever been to my house, you know it’s, uh, complicated).
What can you expect? EVERYTHING will be on offer, including:
- Our perennial plugs, pints, quarts, or larger (some discounted)
- Native plant and nature-themed items (card games, bird art, mushroom plushies)
- Free mystery plants! Maybe free seeds?
- Maybe I’ll do a winter sowing activity? Any interest in that?
And, as always, anyone who attends will receive a $5 coupon towards a purchase in 2027!
Email me at lise@redtrilliumgardens.com if you’d like to reserve any plants for pickup at the sale. Our Buy Plants page should be up to date.
And hey, if you’re one of our Lunenburg customers and traveling to Berlin will be a hardship, drop me a line and I’ll arrange a pickup in Lunenburg, just for you!

Fall Native Plant Sale! Saturday, October 10, 2026, 10am-4pm, 29 Sawyer Hill Rd, Berlin, MA
Milkweed Madness
Are your milkweeds looking, well… sad?
Don’t worry; ours are, too! Milkweeds are some of the earliest plants to go dormant in the fall, with the greens turning yellow, then brown, and then dying back. While all herbaceous perennials do this over the winter, none are quite so dramatic about it as milkweeds! One cold snap and they are like “guess I’ll die” 🤷♀️
But they aren’t dead – only dormant! Beneath the surface are healthy roots, waiting for the days to lengthen and the soil to warm again to send up new shoots.
I recognize, however, that they look kind of… dire. “If I put them in the ground now, will they really survive and return next year?” I hear you saying.
I can understand the hesitation, and in response, I’m marking down all milkweeds from now until the end of the season. That includes poke milkweed (Asclepias exaltata), rose/swamp milkweed (A. incarnata), and whorled milkweed (A. verticillata). Pints are $6 and quarts are $10 – basically, last year’s prices.
(Common milkweed – A. syriaca – is still available free with a purchase of $10 or more).
I’ll be applying this to other species as they go dormant, too.

Sad-looking poke milkweed (Asclepias exaltata). Prices are now $6 for a pint and $10 for a quart until the end of the season
Grow Native MA’s Fall Plant Market
October 10th might be our official end-of-season sale, but our last market is actually Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10am to 3pm, at Grow Native MA’s headquarters at 7 Harrington Rd, Lexington, MA. We will be joined there by no less than EIGHT other nurseries, including Lady Fern Farm, Blue Stem Natives, and Tree Talk Natives – to name just a few!
Closing date
Currently we’re planning to have our “regularly irregular” hours through October 24th. Right now that’s 10am-4pm on these dates:
- Tues 10/6, Weds 10/7, Fri 10/9, and our sale on Sat 10/10!
- Mon 10/12 (Indigenous Peoples’ Day), Tues 10/13, Thurs 10/15, Fri 10/16
- Tues 10/20, Thurs 10/22, Fri 10/23, Sat 10/24
However, this schedule may change as things come up – or if it gets too cold to be in the greenhouse! – so follow us on Instagram or Facebook for the most up-to-date schedule.
And that’s it! Thanks for supporting us this season, and if we don’t see you this month… see you in 2027!
